The Kentucky Softball Coaches Association’s latest poll, dated April 25, includes No. 4 Male as this week’s highest-ranking, Louisville-area team. Also in the top 10 are No. 5 Ballard, No. 6 Bullitt East, and No. 10 Butler. Mercy and Assumption round out the list for Louisville teams at No. 14 and No. 22, respectively.

McCracken County is still holding on to the No. 1 ranking.

Male (15-4) has two big games this week. The Lady Bulldogs travel to No. 22 Assumption on April 26 and host No. 5 Ballard on April 27 before playing three teams out of town April 28-30.

Ballard (19-3) has the best record in the Seventh Region. Aside from their impending match up against Male, the Bruins host Christian Academy on April 26 and Manual on April 28.

Bullitt East (16-1). The Lady Chargers’ only loss on the season came from Collins (21-7) on April 20, a tough 7-8 defeat. Bullitt East has a demanding scheduled ahead, facing five teams in the next six days. The ranked games include No. 24 Meade County on April 27 and No. 14 Mercy on April 28.

Butler (18-4) is arguably the greatest threat to Bullitt East for a Sixth Region title. The Bearettes’ four losses all came from top-20 teams. Next up, Butler will host Western on April 26 and travel to Eastern on April 28.
