Spalding Basketball Gains Commitment from Georgia Standout

Tselem Gahagen, a 5-8 guard from Northside High School in Columbus, Georgia, has committed to play her college basketball at Spalding University.  She becomes the sixth member of the incoming class, joining Erin Dolan (North Bullitt), Megan Goeing (North Bullitt), Jenna Thornhill (Breckinridge County/St. Catharine), Allison Just (Butler) and Micaiah Bowden (Butler).

Gahagen had an outstanding senior season in helping to lead her team to a 20-8 record.  She averaged 10.1 points, 4.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game.  She connected on 41% of her field goal attempts, including 35% of her shots from three-point range.  She also received her team’s Coach’s Award and Highest GPA Award.

Coach Charlie Just feels that the addition of Gahagen puts the finishing touch on an excellent recruiting class.

“All six of our incoming players are quality players, students and young ladies,” he remarked, “and they all fill a need that we have on our basketball team.  Tselem is a very good athlete who can get to the basket and finish in traffic.  She also handles the ball well, shoots the ball with consistency from the perimeter and is an outstanding passer.  Her size and quickness in the guard position should also give her a chance to become a strong presence at the defensive end of the floor.  I’m really looking forward to seeing what she, as well as our other incoming players, can bring to our program next season.”
