LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On Tuesday, Team Nigeria released the list of athletes that will represent them at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Former Cardinal standout Chinwe Okoro was named to the team to compete in the discus.
The track and field portion of the games will take place August 12-21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
At the 2014 African Athletics Championship Okoro took gold in the discus by throwing a Nigerian national record of 59.79m. In April, Okoro threw a personal best of 61.58m in Athens, Ohio.
