WISH Tennis Team of the Year: Manual

Ashli McLean

With the 2nd annual Women In Sports Honors (WISH) just 22 days away, here’s a look at the fifth of 15 teams that will receive our “Outstanding Team of the Year” award for their respective sport. We’ll cover one team per day, so stay tuned…

Tennis Team of the Year:  duPont Manual

Unsurprisingly, Manual’s girls’ tennis team won the Sixth Region this past spring for another consecutive year. In singles, Mariko Chou was runner-up. The regional doubles was Manual vs Manual as eventual winners Maha and Meena Pattabiraman (10-1 regular season record) defeated teammates and runners-up Juliana Spanova and Divya Manirajan.

The Crimsons also reached the Elite Eight in the KHSAA state tournament. The Pattabiraman sisters reached the quarterfinals.

As a team, Manual finished with an 11-4 regular season record while seventeen of their players earned Academic All-State Honors (3.75 GPA or higher).

Join us as we celebrate Manual and a host of other team and individual winners at WISH on Sept. 20! For ticket information, click here.
