LOUISVILLE, Ky. — University of Louisville sophomore Gabrielle Vincent was named the NSCAA Division I Women’s College Player of the Week. She was also named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week. It is the first ACC honor for Vincent.
Vincent totaled seven points for the week on three goals and an assist in 4-0 wins over UAB and Toledo last week. She scored her first career hat trick against UAB with goals in the 32nd,72nd and 84th minutes leading the Cardinals. On the defensive end against, the centerback helped hold the Blazers without a shot for the entire game while Louisville secured the shutout.
Two days later against Toledo, Vincent found Alison Price in the 21st minute for the second score of the game. She also blocked a few shots in front of the box as Louisville earned its third straight shutout of the season.
The NSCAA Players of the week are announced every Tuesday throughout the college regular season on NSCAA.com. Winners will include a men’s and women’s winner from all three NCAA divisions and the Junior College level.
