The 2nd annual Women In Sports Honors (WISH) is in 19 days! Join us as we celebrate our city’s most decorated female athletes and contributors to women’s athletics. The evening will feature a VIP reception, table-seating dinner, cash bar, and awards ceremony.

Produced by the Louisville Women’s Sports Network, WISH is presented by KentuckyOne Health Sports Medicine and Kroger. It is supported in part by Bill Collins Ford, WAVE 3 News, UPS, and Alpha Media.

For now, here’s a look at the eighth of 15 teams that will receive our “Outstanding Team of the Year” award for their respective sport. We’ll cover one team per day, so stay tuned…

Softball Team of the Year:  Holy Cross High

Despite being one of the smallest high schools in Louisville, the Holy Cross softball program has racked up a number of accolades over the past four years, culminating with winning the Sixth Region title for the first time in school history last season.

Last year’s team tied the school record for wins by going 29-13, winning the All “A” Classic statewide tournament championship for a second-straight year, and winning the 21st District title for a fourth-straight year.

At the Worth/KHSAA State Softball Tournament, the Cougars were the smallest school, having only 241 students – over 500 less students than the second-smallest school. Holy Cross won their first game over Anderson County and was one of the final 12 softball teams in the state playing.

Join us as we celebrate Holy Cross golf and a host of other team and individual winners at WISH on Sept. 20! For ticket information, click here.
