Bellarmine University freshman Merit Harris has been honored as the ECAC Division II Field Hockey League’s first Rookie of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The award comes after the Knights forward registered two goals in a 3-0 season-opening win over Seton Hill. The Louisville native didn’t waste any time in recording her first collegiate goal, finding the net just 1:21 into the match. That score proved to be the game-winner but, for good measure, Harris added a second goal after halftime. The Ballard (Ky.) High School product sank two of her three shots.

Lindenwood University’s Tara Robben was named Offensive Player of the Week, with Julia Amell collecting the nod for Defensive Player of the Week.
