The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named Spalding University volleyball player Jessica Diehl this week’s Offensive Player of the Week. This marks Diehl’s second time being named Player of the Week earning defensive honors the week of Sept. 5.
Diehl, an Assumption graduate, was red hot hitting the ball last week; her match against Webster will go down as one of the top 10 performances in NCAA Division III history.
The middle blocker hit .818 in the match, ninth best in D3 history, with 18 kills and no errors on just 22 attacks. She followed with 12 kills in a five set loss to Greenville.
On the week Diehl averaged 3.3 kills per set with 30 kills while hitting .551. She also averaged 4.2 points per set and added 11 digs and seven total blocks while accounting for 37.5 total points.
