JCTMS wins third straight city title

Jefferson County Traditional Middle School beat Meyzeek 52-43 to win its third straight city title and capped off its third straight undefeated season Saturday night.

Eighth graders Dynastee White and Corinne Butcher led JCTMS (18-0) with 18 points apiece while Amaya Asher scored a game high 23 points to pace Meyzeek (13-3) and Aries Harris chipped in 13 points.

The win gave JCTMS its 52nd straight win, the longest winning streak ever by a JCPS middle school basketball team.

JCTMS went 15-0 during the 2014-15 season and 19-0 during the 2015-16 season.
