20th Annual Battle of the Bridges All Star Classic

Guest blogger and JCTMS head basketball coach Michael G. Moore Jr. gives us a recap of “The 20th Annual Battle of the Bridges All Star Classic” that featured talented teams from Kentucky & Indiana this past Saturday  at Midamerica Sportscenter. 

Kentucky went 7-2 against teams from Indiana.   A Kentucky MVP was chosen by the opposing coach for each game.

  • Rising 3rd grade game Ky. won 40-17 – Amirah Jordan (Watterson Elementary) was the MVP.
  • Rising 4th grade game Ky. won 31-8 – Jaelyn Dye was the MVP.
  • Rising 5th grade game Ky. won 37-8 – A’Nejia Russell (McFerran Elementary) was the MVP.
  • Rising 6th grade game Ind. won 29-25 – Taryn Morris (KCD) was the MVP and chose to share it with Mariah Knight (Johnson Middle).

Here’s a recap of the other games.

  • Kentucky won the Rising Seventh Grade game 34-29.

  • Sasha Thomas (Johnson Middle) was named MVP.

  • Kentucky won the Rising Eighth Grade game 41-15.

  • Ayanna Stroud (Noe Middle) was named MVP.

  • Kentucky won the Rising Ninth Grade game 37-28.

  • Dynastee White (Butler) was named MVP.

  • Indiana won the Future Stars game 38-36.

  • Joelle Johnson (Male) was named MVP.

  • Kentucky won the Stars game 67-62.

  • Sha’Maya Behanan (George Rogers Clark) was named MVP.
