Little Flock Christian Academy Blog (week five)

Brian Simpson is the parent of a player on the Little Flock Christian Academy basketball team and is going to do a weekly blog post about the team. If you’re interested in doing a weekly blog post about your team, feel free to email Conor Revell at

School is back in session at Little Flock Christian Academy.  Our next game is scheduled on Jan. 9 at Our Savior Lutheran and we have so many things that we need to work on before then.

Coming off of the loss to St Francis, free throw shooting jumped to the front of the  to do lists. Going 6-28 was just a numbing effect when one looks at the official score book.  At this late stage of the season, it seems that it was more mental than a physical thing with regards to the misses. The team spent a good portion of the late week practices working on those free throws.

Being a short week for us, practices included a lot of fundamentals to ease the girls back into the basketball groove as we head into the weekend.  A few of the girls went out of town to visit family members so everyone seemed to be in good spirits this week. The only downside was our coach, Kimberly James, seemed to take it upon herself to come down with a cold for some reason so we are wishing her well and hoping for a quick recovery.

That’s all for this week, we hope everyone had a fantastic and safe holiday week. Best of luck to all the middle and high school teams out there.
