Louisville area basketball teams ranked

Three Louisville area high school basketball teams are ranked in the first Associated Press poll of the season that was released Monday afternoon.

Sacred Heart is the top-ranked team from Louisville and is No. 3 with a 10-4 record, but has only loss to a Kentucky team and that was to top-ranked Mercer County on the road.

Butler is ranked No. 4 with a 13-1 record and is 9-0 against in-state competition. The Bearettes lone loss was to Hoover (Ala.).

Male is 11-4 and is ranked No. 6 in the state. The Lady Bulldogs are 9-3 against in-state opponents with their losses to No. 2 Campbell County, No. 4 Butler, and Boyd County.

Manual is 8-3 and is receiving the sixth most amount of votes outside of the top 10.
