Michael G. Moore is the head coach of the Jefferson County Traditional Middle School basketball team and is going to do a weekly blog post about his team. If you’re interested in doing a weekly blog post about your team, feel free to email Conor Revell at conor.revell@gmail.com.

What a week it has been.  Full of Snow, more snow and then three days of School closings.  Over the past week even with no school, we were able to enjoy our two team outings.

We attended the Bellarmine women’s game on Monday, Jan 15th which was a lot of fun and allowed the girls to see the college level of women’s basketball up close.

We also were able to attend the Coach Davenport Show on Tuesday, Jan. 16th which was held at Rooster’s on Preston Highway. The JCTMS dance and cheer teams were also there enjoying the evening and the kids got a chance to enjoy great food and time together as teammates.

The taping of that show will air on TV this Saturday, Jan 20th at 10:30am on the WBKI station/channel.

We finish up our team outing week of activities by attending the #2 ranked U of L women’s home game on Sunday, Jan. 21st vs No. 11 Florida State at 5 p.m.

Our hope is the kids are back in school Thursday, Jan. 18th so we are able to play our game at TJ Middle at 3:30 p.m.  We have a quick turnaround as we play at Ramsey Middle on Tuesday, Jan. 23rd  at 3:30 p.m.  We finish up next week at Moore Middle on Jan. 25th at 3:30 p.m.  At that game will celebrate our eighth graders with their eighth grade day vs Moore Middle as they prepare to move on to high school next year.

If the kids don’t have school on Thursday, Jan 18th then the games just get pushed back a week on the schedule.
