Little Flock Christian Academy Blog (week seven)

Brian Simpson is the parent of a player on the Little Flock Christian Academy basketball team and is going to do a weekly blog post about the team. If you’re interested in doing a weekly blog post about your team, feel free to email Conor Revell at

The snow really hit us hard and caused us to miss a few games. We had two games with St. Francis called off and a trip to Hart County was moved to Jan. 19. We were able to play a JV game at Highlands-Latin this past week. We were short one of our players as sixth grader Morgan Bandy had the flu so we all hope she is feeling better and will be able to join us at our next game.

The Lady Lions got off to a good start behind four quick points from Kaiden James and we quickly led 7-4 at the end of the 1st Quarter. In the second second quarter, we couldn’t get much going, and led 11-7 at the half.

There must have been a great motivational speech because things picked up very nicely in the second half, multiple players got into the scoring act in the 3rd Quarter as James , Riley Simpson and Allison Spieker combined for nine points to increase our lead to 20-11 as we entered the final quarter.

Any thoughts of losing this game quickly vanished as James and Reagan DeMusey put this game away in a hurry. Six of James game high 16 point alongside five of DeMusey’s  six points finished off the Lady Highlander’s with a final score of 31-15 for a Lady Lions victory!

We have a very busy weekend ahead of us, we hope to travel to Hart County on Friday for two games and on Saturday we will participate in the Collegiate Hoopla tournament for the JV girls!

The snow has cost us our chance to play Meyzeek Middle School. I worked hard to schedule a JCPS school and the bad weather has prevented it from happening. I will continue to reach out to any JCPS school that has the ability to schedule us in the next two upcoming years!
