Louisville area softball teams ranked

The Male, Ballard, Mercy, Holy Cross, Oldham County, Collins, and Butler softball teams represent the Louisville area in the second Kentucky Prep Softball Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Male is ranked No. 3 and is the top Louisville team. The Bulldogs have only been able to play one game this season and beat Central Hardin 9-3 back on March 23rd.

Ballard is No. 6 and has a 2-1 record with wins over North Laurel and Edgewood (Ohio) and a loss to Madison Central.

Mercy is No. 8 and is 2-0 with wins over Boyle County (5-4) and Eastern (1-0). The Jaguars have not played since March 26th.

Holy Cross is No. 12 and is 4-0 with wins over Valley, Corydon Central, Presentation, and Beth Haven.

Oldham County is No. 18 and is 4-1 with wins over Butler, Mundelein (Ill.), Palm Bay (Fla.), and Bay (Fla.) and a loss to Woodford County.

Collins is No. 20, but has only played one game this season beating Mercer County 8-6 back on March 19th.

Butler is No. 21 and is 3-1 with wins over Hart County, Notre Dame, and Highlands and a loss to Oldham County.

Eastern, Manual, and Shelby County are also receiving votes.
