Jaelynn Penn was recognized by becoming the first Indiana University women’s basketball player to earn a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman team.
Penn had a phenominal freshman season and averaged 10.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and one steal a game.
The freshman phenom hit 141 of 336 (42 percent) from the field including 47 of 131 (35.9 percent) from three-point land and 71 of 86 (82.6 percent) from the charity stripe.
Indiana went 23-14 this past season and won their first ever National Invitational Tournament (NIT) championship.
Penn is no stranger to winning in the postseason. She helped Butler win three Sixth Region titles and two state championships.
