The 2018 Owensboro Health/KHSAA State Softball Tournament Draw was held Thursday morning and the Sixth and Seventh Regions, both have a brutal road, if a Louisville area teams wants to bring a state title.

For the Sixth Region, No. 10 Holy Cross and No. 11 Mercy are the heavy favorites, their first round game is against the 16th Region, unbeaten and second-ranked East Carter and stud pitcher Montana Fouts will likely await them.

For the Seventh Region, it isn’t so bad having to play the Fifth Region, Central Hardin is the only ranked team and is the heavy favorite, but is ranked No. 12. Green County is most likely the only team that can spoil the Bruins chances.

For the eighth Region, Oldham County is No. 13, they will likely be favorite in their first round game, but their round game would be against the First Region champion, which will most likely be McCracken who is ranked No. 6 or the Second Region champion, No. 3 Christian County or defending state champion No. 7 Madisonville-North Hopkins.

The double-elimination tournament will be played at Jack C. Fisher Park in Owensboro Thursday June, 7th, Friday, June 8th, and Saturday June 9th.
