Butler’s softball advanced to the Sixth Region championship game for a second straight year with a 6-0 victory over Jeffersontown Tuesday night at the University of Louisville’s Ulmer Stadium.
Abigail Templeman had a run scoring base and grounder to lead the Bearettes with two RBIs. Annabelle Walker and Tori Hartlage had RBI singles and Alyssa Brock had an RBI double.
Sadie Werner tossed a complete game for Butler and only allowed two hits, struck out seven, walked two, and plunked one.
Kyleigh Koenig started in the circle for the Chargers and tossed a complete game and allowed six runs, five earned, 15 hits, struck out one, and didn’t issue a walk.
The Bearettes advance to the Sixth Region championship game and will play the No. 9 Holy Cross and No. 10 Mercy winner at 5:30 p.m.
