LWSN highlights a local native that plays at the collegiate level every Monday. If you have a suggestion on a female athlete to highlight , send an email to email@example.com. This week’s feature is on former Kentucky Country Day lacrosse star Natalie Marek.
Marek had a stellar season at Centre College keeping opposing offenses at bay as the Colonels finished their season with a 15-3 record that ended with a loss in the SAA Tournament Championship game.
The former Bearcat started in all 18 games, allowed 143 goals, saved 144 shots, picked up 35 ground balls, and only had 14 turnovers.
She was the only Colonel that stood in the goal the entire season.
Marek held her opponent to five or less goals seven times throughout the season.
