Fourth Annual Golden Eagle Awards Announced

Spalding University Athletics has announced the 2017-18 Golden Eagle Award winners. Highlighted by the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, these annual awards recognize both individual and team achievements within the athletic department at Spalding University, a member of NCAA Division III and the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).

Alnee Tutson, a Bullitt East alum, was the only Louisville area alum that received an award and was given the Outstanding Achievement Award.

ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Given to a senior male and female athlete who achieves excellence on the field of play and displays leadership amongst his teammates. 

Katie Suiters – Track & Field

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Given to one male and one female student-athlete (any class) who succeeds on the field, in the classroom, and in the campus community.

Alnee Tutson – Women’s Soccer

TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARD
Given to one men’s team and one women’s team who succeeded on the field of play and helped bring positive attention to the university through their athletic achievements. 

Women – Golf

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING ATHLETE OF THE YEAR AWARD
Given to one male and one female athlete that show drive and dedication to improve their bodies and minds through strength training and fitness conditioning.

Katie Suiters – Track & Field

UNDERCLASSMEN ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Given to one male and one female athlete who, as a first or second year player, displayed exceptional performance on the field of play. 

Kassidy Wallin – Golf
