Monday, July 16th

Tryouts. Tryouts bring out the best, and worst, of the season. Not players, although we cut some, but anticipation, anxiety, decisions. Did we make the right choice? That’s something we have to live all season with. But, I’m expecting this to be my best group since I’ve been here. Potentially nine returning varsity players and some sparkling underclassmen. We’ll see. Decisions……

Tuesday, July 17th

Tonights the night. It sets the tone for the entire season, and it’s all taking place in 1 1/2 of tryouts. The second night tells me to tell them yes, or no. And then the either gone on or come back tomorrow. But, the decision is made. And we as coaches, have to live with it.

Wednesday, July 18th

Part One

Who’s alive at 5:45 a.m? Manual Volleyball, that’s who!

1st two-a-day in the books, and we all survived. Not without a mishap or two, but we all made it.

Part Two

First practice. I like what I see all thru the program. We have freshman that would be JV and JV that would be varsity at nearly any other program. We looked good, not polished, but certainly not rusty in our drills. The varsity will have power on the pins and a lot of experience. I can’t wait to get this going.

Lets see what tomorrow and the reality of another 5:45 a.m. session, brings…..
