Kentucky shines at the Battle of the Bridges

Guest blogger and JCTMS head basketball coach Michael G. Moore Jr. gives us a quick recap of “The 21st Annual Battle of the Bridges All Star Classic” that featured talented teams from Kentucky & Indiana this past Saturday at Midamerica Sportscenter. 

The Kentucky girl teams went 8-1 against Indiana. The matchups began early Saturday morning with a Rising 3rd grade game and the night ended with the Rising Juniors/Seniors in the Stars game.  In each game, there was a Kentucky & Indiana player chosen as MVP.

Rising 3rd grade-KY won.

  Maliah Courtney (Bardstown) was MVP.

Rising 4th grade-KY won 25-22.

Amirah Jordan (Watterson Ele) was MVP.

Rising 5th grade-KY won 46-12.

Hadley French (Richmond) was MVP.

Rising 6th grade-IN won 41-38.

Zakiya Johnson (Shelby County) was MVP.

Rising 7th grade-KY won 39-35.

Taryn Morris (Sacred Heart Model School) was MVP.
Rising 8th grade-KY won 53-28.
Jakayla Thompson (Ramsey Middle) was MVP.
Rising 9th grade-KY won 34-28.
Josie Gilvin (Sacred Heart Academy) was MVP.
Future Stars Game-KY won 51-44.
Mya Meredith (Scott HS) was MVP.
Stars Game-KY won 79-53.
Maleaha Bell (George Rogers Clark HS) was MVP.
