What a game! I think the crowd got their moneys worth for that one. We came so close to pulling off the huge upset. I was proud of the girls for competing hard and following the game plan we had discussed and went over in practice the day before. We had so many opportunities to pull this game out but just couldn’t capitalize on them enough to pull it out.

Ramsey won 36-33.

After a low scoring first quarter between both teams, we were down 22-10 at half time. Ramsey started to open up the game and extend their lead going into halftime and had the momentum. We came out in 2nd half actually able to get stops and score ourselves to go on a nice 11-0 run, which was great to see from this group. We were able to cut their lead to 22-21 and from there on it was back and forth til the end. At end of the 3rd quarter Ramsey was up 27-25.
In the late 4th qtr with 25 seconds left we had the ball down 34-33 and had a great shot at the rim that came up short. Then Ramsey got the rebound and we had to foul.  Ramsey made both free throws to go up 36-33.  I called timeout and in the huddle we wanted to be sure we got a 3 pointer to send the game into overtime. As we came out of the timeout and got the ball in, we got off a 3 pointer in corner but rimmed in and out at the buzzer.

We were led in scoring by 7th grader, MaKiya Humphrey with 13 points.

Ramsey was led by 8th grade guards; Triniti Ralston with 19 points and Jakayla Thompson with 11 points.

We now go into week 3 of the season with a 2-1 record and play at 4:45pm at Moore Middle on Thursday, Nov 15th.

Go Lady Centurions!
