Michael G. Moore Jr. is the head coach of the Jefferson County Traditional Middle School basketball team and is going to do a weekly blog post about his team.

Our regular season came to a close this evening as we finished vs Barret Middle.

It was a great atmosphere for an after school middle school game as Barret had celebrated 8th Grade Day and had a “Blackout” theme and nice turnout of students who stayed for the game.

We won 31-20.

We were led in scoring by 8th grader, Alana Smith with 13 points.

Barret was led in scoring by 7th grader, Sara Grace Morley with 8 points.

This win takes our record on the season to 10-5.

We now go into the postseason with the South District tournament next week for District semifinals on Wednesday, February 5th vs the winner of Highland/Moore at Newburg Middle at 4:45pm. For the loser of that semifinal game, the season is over. For the winner, they advance to the District Final.

The four District tournaments will take place the week of February 3rd.

The District Finals for each will be played on Thursday, February 6th at Westport Middle at 3:30, 4:45, 6, 7:15.

The JCPS City Tournament:

Quarterfinals on Monday, February 10th at Westport Middle at 3:30, 4:45, 6, 7:15.

Semifinals on Wednesday, February 12th at Ramsey Middle at 6pm and 7:15pm.

City Finals on Thursday, February 13th at Ramsey Middle at 6pm.
