LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For the first time this season, the Bellarmine University women’s basketball team cracked the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association’s top 25.

The Knights are ranked 25th in the latest poll released Tuesday after posting two 20-point victories over Saint Joseph’s and Indianapolis to boost their record to 15-2 overall and 9-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Bellarmine has been ranked multiple times this season in the Division II Media Poll but had yet to enter the WBCA’s top 25, although the Knights were on the cusp after leading the “others receiving votes” group the previous two weeks.

Bellarmine’s only losses this season came to Quincy — currently ranked 19th — and Lewis — ranked eighth. Drury joins that trio from the GLVC at No. 16.

Lubbock Christian, Alaska-Anchorage, Ashland, Limestone and California Baptist comprise the top five.
