Elizabethtown High girls’ basketball is back in the top spot in this week’s Kentucky Associated Press poll. Louisville’s Male and Butler rank in at No. 2 and 3, respectively. Mercy creeps in this week at No. 9 and DuPont Manual rounds out the top 10.

With an overall record of 21-2, the Male Bulldogs have only seen both losses to Butler. Male will square off at Eastern tonight at 6 p.m., as well and host No. 9 Mercy on Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

The Butler Bearettes (19-5) defeated No. 10 Manual 51-25 this past weekend. Next up, they’ll travel to Sacred Heart on Feb. 10 for a 7:30 p.m. game and host Moore on Feb. 12 at 6 p.m.

Mercy (17-9) has made a statement in the past few weeks with wins over Butler (73-71, Jan. 15) and Elizabethtown (65-53, Jan. 29). Mercy will finish the week at Male on Feb. 12.

Manual (14-6) will host Atherton tonight at 7:30 p.m. and play at Seneca on Feb. 12 at 6 p.m.

Interesting to note: Eastern is still not back in the top 10 despite holding a 15-5 record and defeating No. 3 Butler at Butler (63-60) on Feb. 3.
