Every week, the Louisville Women’s Sports Network highlights a local woman by asking her six questions about her health and fitness routine. Sponsored by Baptist Health Sports Medicine, this week’s guest is Stephanie Bristow. If there is a woman you’d like us to feature, email suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Six Questions About Your Fitness & Health
1) What is your weekly training/exercise routine?
Every week, I strive to be active for at least 5-6 days and for a minimum of one hour per day. I balance my workouts between B.YOU’s Silque (aerial)} cardio classes and B.YOU’s B.Barre classes to ensure I have a happy mix of cardio, strengthening and stretching. I may add in a few at-home workouts, but I love the motivation that working out with a class full of women gives me. It really pushes you to work harder.
2) How do you prepare for a workout?
To prepare for a workout, I simply ensure I am hydrated before I start and have a small breakfast to boost energy.
3) What do you eat, drink or do for quick energy?
I typically have a Quest Protein Bar. They have amazing flavors and also curve a sugar craving. I am an old-fashioned water lover! Any energy-boosting drinks typically give me the shakes. When I am hydrated with water, it makes a difference in my energy, as well as having a small breakfast.
4) What is your daily nutritional meal plan when training?
I am a fan of not limiting yourself with diets or following a strict routine, but I do have guidelines that keep me consistent and control any unwanted weight gain. I limit how many starchy carbohydrates I consume and always have a meal that is full of color.
5) What do you snack on between meals when training?
Snacks are extremely important to me because I stay active all day long and I require the energy it gives me. My favorites are Quest Bars and, of course, almonds, a few banana slices and peanut butter. I also am a big fan of string cheese!
6) What are your fitness & health goals?
My goals related to health and fitness are to simply feel good. There isn’t a goal weight or a pant size I strive to be in. I just love to feel strong and successful in the routine I am doing at the time. When I can perform an exercise better than I once was able to do or a cardio burst with more energy and endurance, I feel successful. Being challenged [in my workouts], happy and intrigued is what creates a consistent lifestyle, and I have been consistent with a different routine for the past five years.
