Legendary Cardinals coach Denny Crum released from hospital after suffering second stroke
Legendary Louisville Cardinals basketball coach Denny Crum has been released from the hospital after suffering a second stroke since 2017.
"Denny has been released from the hospital and will continue his recovery with inpatient rehab," a spokesperson with the Denny Crum Scholarship Foundation told WLKY. "He's already made great strides and we are still confident he will make a full recovery."
The coach's scholarship foundation announced May 21 that Crum suffered another stroke and was recovering at a local hospital.
Crum, 82, suffered a mild stroke in 2017 while fishing with his wife in Alaska. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Anchorage.
The Hall of Fame coach led the Cardinals to two national championships and six Final Four appearances. He finished his career with a 675-295 record in 30 seasons on the sidelines.
