UofL Health to hold cancer survivors parade this weekend
UofL Health is holding a cancer survivors parade on Sunday to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day.
The parade is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. near the Cardinal Express at Cardinal Stadium.
Cancer patients and survivors are encouraged to decorate their cars and face masks and join the parade around the stadium parking lot.
There will be a panel of judges to pick their favorite entries and award prizes.
Organizers spent Friday setting up tents, registration stations and a red carpet.
Kentucky's J.D. Shelburne will be at the event singing. Organizers said he has a special cancer survivor song written for the occasion.
The event is free and open to the public, but people asked to stay in their vehicles to keep everyone safe.
