New café, sandwich shop hopes to fill void in downtown Jeffersonville
Close Enough Cafe is hoping to fill a void in downtown Jeffersonville.
The new shop on Spring Street offers coffee, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, Southern sides, beer, bloody marys and mimosas.
Owner Chris Palmer said there was a need in the area for this kind of concept.
"We knew there were a lot of other businesses, we have a lot of great friends and allies up and down the street but we saw that we were lacking the deli grab and go lunch service," said Palmer. "We really wanted to help with all the employees that work up and down spring street that have a place to come get some food."
Palmer also owns The Alcove and Bad Cat Boutique on Spring Street.
He opened these businesses in the past few years when realizing there was a need for a bar and an art gallery rental space.
Close Enough Cafe has a dining space and a lounge area. Palmer said he hopes people feel welcome.
"We wanted to make it a place for anybody to come and feel comfortable," Palmer said. "It's something we're pushing to be as much as a hang-out space as it is a dining space."
Close Enough Cafe is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cafe is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
