Wednesday’s Child: Energetic tween says finding forever family is key to her happiness
Ellie, 12, enjoys reading Harry Potter as much as she likes telling jokes with her friends.
She said school is a happy place for her.
“I’m in sixth grade, and I get straight A’s,” said Ellie.
She enthusiastically explained she loves math without the tests, soccer without the running, and school without the physical education class.
She also has big plans for the future.
“I already know what I want to be when I get older,” she said. “I either want to be a marine biologist, a person who owns a restaurant in a zoo, a designer, or work in IT.”
For Ellie, one of the hardest parts about being in foster care is the constant moving.
“I don’t really like moving around that much, because if I move to a different county, I won’t be able to get at the same school and have the same friends.”
Ellie is ready to settle into a permanent, loving family.
“I want to be happy and I want to celebrate with people,” she said. “I want lots of animals, I want a mama, a dada, and brothers, and sisters.”
