DURING THAT TIME. ALL RIGHT MO, THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU’RE WELCOME. WELL, FOR DECADES WLKY HAS HELPED LOCAL CHILDREN FIND FOREVER HOMES THROUGH THE WEDNESDAY’S CHILD PROGRAM. AND THIS WEEK, CHRISTINA MORA INTRODUCES US TO ROSE, A 16 YEAR OLD GIRL LOOKING FOR A SUPPORTIVE, FOREVER FAMILY. 16 YEAR OLD ROSE, JUST STARTED HER JUNIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL, WHERE MATH IS HER FAVORITE SUBJECT. BUT SHE SAYS HER TRUE PASSION INVOLVES GETTING CREATIVE, CROCHETING. KNITTING, DIAMOND ART. WHO TAUGHT YOU TO CROCHET AND KNIT? MYSELF, I USUALLY TRY TO MAKE STUFFED ANIMALS A LOT. I MAKE A DUCK. ROSE HOPES TO SHARE HER TALENTS WITH A SUPPORTIVE ADOPTIVE FAMILY WHO ACCEPTS HER FOR EXACTLY WHO SHE IS. THEY KNOW THAT THEY’RE KIND AND SWEET AND RESPECTED FOR WHO I AM. YEAH. TWO PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS. DAD. MOTHER. MOTHER OR YOU KNOW WHAT ABOUT SIBLINGS? I LOVE SIBLINGS. OH, YEAH. RIGHT NOW, 29% OF THE CHILDREN IN KENTUCKY’S FOSTER CARE SYSTEM HAVE A GOAL OF ADOPTION. ROSE IS PART OF THAT GROUP, AND SHE’S OPTIMISTIC SHE WILL FIND HER RIGHT MATCH. I’M REALLY SWEET AND KIND TO KNOW, AND I’M REALLY CREATIVE. I’M REALLY UNIQUE AND SPECIAL IN MY OWN WAY. Rose, 16, wants to connect with an encouraging and caring forever family. The high school junior said math is her favorite subject, but her true passion involves getting creative.“Crocheting, knitting, diamond art. I usually try to make stuffed animals,” she said. Rose hopes to share her talents with a family who accepts her for exactly who she is.“To know that they’re kind and sweet and respectful of who I am. I’d like two parents.
