INDIVIDUALS WHO GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY. A NEW ROLLER COASTER IS FLYING INTO KENTUCKY KINGDOM IN TIME FOR NEXT SUMMER. MEGAN MATTHEWS TALKED TO OFFICIALS TODAY ABOUT THE LATEST ADDITION TO THE AMUSEMENT PARK. JUST SIX MONTHS AFTER DISCOVERY MEADOW OPENED IN KENTUCKY, KINGDOM, THE PARK HAS NOW ANNOUNCED ITS NEWEST ADDITION. THIS TIME SOMETHING FOR ALL THE THRILL SEEKERS. FLYING FOX IS THE FIRST NEW ROLLER COASTER BUILT AT KENTUCKY KINGDOM SINCE 2019. IT’S PART OF THE $25 MILLION INVESTMENT ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2025 AND 2026 SEASONS. IT WILL BE A UNIQUE COASTER TO WHAT WE HAVE IN THE PARK CURRENTLY BECAUSE IT IS SUSPENDED AND IT WILL BE FAMILY FRIENDLY, SO WE’RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THAT, SOMETHING THAT WILL APPEAL TO ALL AGES. LOGAN SANDERSON, THE MARKETING MANAGER AT KENTUCKY KINGDOM, SAID THE 1380 FOOT LONG COASTER ADDS TO THE STORYTELLING AT THE PARK, WITH A FOCUS ON THE KENTUCKY THEME FEATURED THROUGHOUT THE FLYING FOX RIDE FOLLOWS THE LOCAL LEGEND AND CROP DUSTING PILOT JEB FOX. HE’LL BE RECRUITING FAMILIES TO JOIN HIM ON HIS ADVENTURES WITHIN CROP DUSTING. THE $14 MILLION COASTER WILL REACH A HEIGHT OF 65FT AND A TOP SPEED OF 37MPH, BRINGING GUESTS TO JEB FOX’S FARM WITH A RED BARN. QUEUE AND A HAND-PAINTED MURALS. WE’VE CONTINUED THE STORYTELLING HERE AT THE FRONT OF THE PARK, SO THAT WAS ABOUT KENTUCKY NATURE. AND SO THIS WILL LEAN MORE INTO THE KENTUCKY AGRICULTURE SIDE OF THINGS. SO WE’RE REALLY EXCITED FOR GUESTS TO SEE OUR CONTINUED EFFORT TO ENHANCE THE PARK EXPERIENCE FOR THEM. CONSTRUCTION ON THE NEW ROLLER COASTER HAS ALREADY BEGUN. Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville is adding a new roller coaster to its roster, its first since 2019.Next year, the theme park will debut Flying Fox."It'll be a unique coaster to what we have at the park currently, because it is suspended and it will be family friendly. At its fastest, it will go 37 mph. Riders will have to be at least 38 inches tall. According to the park, Flying Fox is inspired by local crop-dusting pilot Jeb Fox. It will "send riders soaring over a vibrant Kentucky farmland setting" with custom red barn-inspired queue, murals, and audio from Fox himself with a goal of celebrating Kentucky's agricultural heritage, the park said.Kentucky Kingdom officials said the ride cost about $14 million and is part of a more than $33 million investment committed to the park going into 2026.While guests wait, the park will return with Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom November 22. It will feature over 1.5 million lights and the largest snow tubing hill in Kentucky. Season passes for 2026 are now available for current pass holders starting at $65.
