The recent fatal shooting of a protester by a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Minneapolis has sparked bipartisan demands for an investigation into the Trump administration's enforcement of immigration laws.

This morning, more questions continue to circulate after another fatal immigration enforcement shooting in Minneapolis. My biggest concern is to get ICE out of our state. It is still *** dangerous situation. Following Saturday's shooting, Trump administration officials were quick to label 37-year-old Alex Preddy, who took care of veterans in *** VA hospital, as an instigator and *** domestic terrorist. He was interrupting an ICE operation. and that led to *** very tragic occurrence that every single person in this country hoped did not happen. But make no mistake about it, you cannot look at *** 12th video and judge what happened. But Democrats and *** growing number of Republicans are asking the administration to take *** step back and calling for *** deeper investigation. Take the rhetoric down, calm the situation, and return the focus to where it should be. Which is keeping us all safe. Statements from Senator Thom Tillis, Lisa Murkowski, Bill Cassidy, and Susan Collins expressing similar messages and asking for *** comprehensive independent investigation into the shooting to be conducted. Republican Governor Kevin Stitt asking the administration, what is the endgame. We have to enforce federal laws, but we need to know what is the endgame, and I don't think it's to deport every single non-US citizen. In Washington, I'm Rachel Hirsheimer.
