President Trump settled on *** list of goals he said must be achieved in order for the fighting to stop. This includes degrading Iran's missile capability, eliminating Iran's navy, securing the Strait of Hormuz, and taking Iran's enriched uranium needed to build *** nuclear bomb. He offered no details on how that could happen beyond saying the US military will take it ourselves. Now over the weekend, President Trump issued an ultimatum against Iran to reopen the. Strait or the US would obliterate their power plants. He also walked back that threat, extending the plan for 5 days after President Trump announced Special Envoy Steve Wootkopf and his son-in-law Jared Kushner had good discussions with *** top Iranian official Sunday evening. We were planning tomorrow on shooting down some of their power plants, and we're not we're going to hold that up. Hopefully we won't have to do it. I think there's *** very good chance we're going to end up in *** deal, and so we're giving it 5 days and then we're. to see where that takes us. President Trump would not name who the US is negotiating with from Iran, but said it is not the new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, noting the White House has not heard from him at all, even as the president claims the war may be winding down.
