A woman is sharing her story of survival after enduring years of abuse as a child — and the long journey it took to confront what happened.
In “Hometown Tragedy: Escaping the House of Demons,” she revisits a childhood marked by fear, manipulation and violence inside her own home. For years, Jessica Reale said the memories felt distant — as if they belonged to someone else.

The documentary, produced in collaboration with local news station KCRA, follows her experience growing up in an environment where authorities would later describe the abuse as extreme. It also explores the moment everything changed, when she made the decision to tell someone what was happening, setting off an investigation that would uncover the truth.
