Male baseball seeing off season preparation pay off
Male Baseball has surpassed 20 wins for the first time since the 2022 season, and the Bulldogs are playing some of their best baseball going into the postseason.
"It's an honor to show the work we've put in for these years and letting it pay off on the field," said senior Cole Woodward.
The senior class has been through two coaching changes and went from winning a combined 20 wins as freshmen and sophomores to winning 20-plus games in their final season of high school baseball.
After coming up short in the Regional Tournament last year, the Bulldogs are on a mission to go further in the postseason this year.
"We have a brotherhood around here," said Woodward. "We've been through so much these last four years. Between the coaches and whatnot, so we're just really trying to get to Lexington."
It's a program that hasn't won a state championship since 1944 and hasn't made it to the final four since 2010, but this group of seniors knows they have something special to make a run.
"This team is really close," said senior Seth Keefe. "I'm with these guys every day, and just seeing the work we put in from freshman year to now, and just the progress this team has made is really cool to see."
