Aaron Rodgers reportedly agrees to one-year deal with the Steelers

Aaron Rodgers reportedly agrees to one-year deal with the Steelers
We ever got the momentum on our side. Honestly, we had *** lot of chances. Defense played really good in the first half and Uh, you know, they, they got *** good defense. But we had *** lot of opportunities, *** lot of opportunities. Didn't make, didn't make the most of hardly any of them. What made 3rd down such *** challenge? Well, we had *** lot of 3rd and 10 pluses to start. Those are low percentage conversions. I think 1st and 2nd down wasn't very good. That's why 3rd down was difficult. Aaron, I think, uh, it was the last drive of the 3rd quarter. Anderson Hunter combined for like 2 tackles. Can be pressure. What changed from that point on? Was it just *** matter of becoming too one-dimensional, or what was it that allowed them to get? I'd have to look at the tape, but they're good players, you know, at some point, they're gonna, they're gonna get *** chance when you're in, you know, *** lot of one-dimensional passing. I feel like we had slide and, and Chip to at least one of them most of the game, but they're, you know, they're both, uh, all-pro caliber players. And you mentioned those missed opportunities and not feeling like you've gotten *** rhythm. Did it feel like those snowballed there in the second half and just kept you from finding your footing? No, I don't know about that. I think every, every play is unique to itself, you know, we just, we had some opportunities and, you know, either, either drops or Um, pressure or just total MA's or, you know, not the, not the right throw. I mean, we had *** lot of chances. I mean, we had plays set up with, uh, you know, missed assignments. We had opportunities, you know, to take shots with not enough time. Uh, we just didn't make the most of any of the little opportunities against good defense like this. You're not going to get many opportunities when you get them, you got to make the most of them. I acknowledges to, you know, how good they are defensively and, and how they played versus what you're saying about the plays that were there to be made that, that, that you weren't able to make. There are *** lot of plays there to be made for sure. They got *** good defense, no doubt about it, but we had them on our home field and our grass and had opportunities. Uh, especially in the first half to put *** lot of points on the board and make it easier for our defense. It was playing really good. Here's another game where Pat Brown really didn't get targeted until later in the game. What were they doing *** lot to take him away or what, what's gone into just not being able to get him the ball as much when you guys need big plays? Yeah, I don't know. I don't have *** good answer for that. Mason Rudolph went out there for the last series. Was that *** decision you made to come out of the, kind of what went into that? It was 30 to 6. Anyone else? Aaron, does that game affect your decision for what to do next year? No, I mean, I'm not going to make any emotional decisions. Disappointed, you know, obviously, I'm such *** Fun year, you know, *** lot of adversity, but *** lot of, *** lot of fun. It's been *** great year, you know, overall in my life in the last, uh, the last year, and this is, you know, *** really good part of that, coming here and being *** part of this team. So it's disappointing to be sitting here, uh, with the season over. Do you want it to be here? I'm not gonna talk about that. Karen, how do you approach? Just what you decide to do next? Yeah, just get away and then And have have the right conversations. Did you enter tonight thinking it could be your final game? I have answered this before. Every game could be my final game. Aaron, you know, the, the, your teammates haven't been shy about how much they've appreciated playing with you and the impact you found in the city in just one year. What does that mean to you to just in one year make such *** positive impact for an organization that has as much history and tradition as the Steelers? I was fortunate to play in an incredible football city for 18 years, and I never took it for granted and enjoyed that time there and this has been ***, *** really beautiful back into that, uh, that 1st 18, you know, to be able to be here for *** year. You know, this is *** special place. You got tradition, got excellence, got all-time greats. Um, You know, you're just looking around the stadium tonight just to see, uh, the fans, you know, there wasn't *** big splattering of, of Texans fans, and there's *** lot to be said for that, you know, there's only *** few really special places in the league that have the tradition and the, and the town and the organization, and I'm thankful to have played for two of them. You, you've noted throughout the season when you thought practices were, were, were on and weren't on. Did you feel, where did you feel about you guys' preparation for this game just day in and day out, getting ready for this defense? Yeah, I thought it was good. I thought the preparation was good, and you know, that's why it was so surprising some of the, the mental errors that happened the night. What do you think will resonate with you most from this season? What do you think will resonate with you most from this season? Well, I mean, there's so many fun moments from the year. I mean, starting, uh, going back to La Trobe and Uh, and the beauty, the beauty in that opportunity to come together as *** team. We faced *** lot of adversity. Um, but, you know, there's, there's *** lot of special moments that I'll think back on. Right now, it's just disappointment, but thankful to, to put the colors on and run out of that tunnel and, and be *** part of this organization. And you've played with *** lot of centers in this league too. Just talk *** little bit about your rapport this season with Zach Frazier, what that was like, and, and especially with him being such *** young player in the league, what you've seen out of him, uh, this season. I mean, I don't think there's *** better center in the league. Um, I watched it every single week. Uh, you know, we obviously got *** good D-line, but, um, 54 is as consistent as they come in the league. He's got *** bright future. He is *** phenomenal player. He's got *** real steady way about him. Uh, to go the whole season and not have any, uh. You know, snap issues, um, to not to have to do *** whole lot back there protection-wise when I've done that most of my career. He is an exceptional player. He's got *** really bright future in the league. If the team was smart, they'd slap *** deal on him pretty quickly because he's going to be, uh, 10+ years in the league and, and one of the best to do it, in my opinion. Uh, that's his trajectory. He's got ***, you know, *** great running mate. I mean, the right side, uh, that's got to excite. Um, Steeler fans, when you got. You know, 3 young guys at center, right guard, and right tackle who have, uh, played so well all season. Uh, that's pretty exciting, but Zach is *** special player and I'm thankful to play with him. Aaron, as you think about your decision, do you think this team is set up for *** bright future as *** foundation for *** bright future? I think so. I think you got *** lot of pieces in place, you know, signing DK obviously for 5 years now. There's some moving pieces because there's been some, you know, some mercenaries, um, but, you know, I think that there's the good combination of young guys who are ascending and there's some big decisions to be made. I mean, Our team MVP was Kenny Gainwell. He's *** free agent and, and severely underpaid for his performance and what he adds to *** team, but you got *** good core. You gotta, you gotta start with the the offensive and defensive lines and, um, obviously, TJ is under contract for *** while and Herbig came on and KB had *** nice season for us and YA's got *** bright future, I think, and Then offensive line, I already talked about it, you know, you got 3 center, right guard, right tackle. Uh, as long as Isaac wants to play, you know, he plays at *** high level. And, you know, obviously, Broderick got hurt and gave an opportunity for Dylan who obviously showed he can play in the NFL. So, I think you, you, you got *** good, uh, good pieces in place on the OND line and obviously, every year is different. You got to figure out who's coming back, who's not, but I think, uh, You know, this team is always going to be competitive and there's some pieces in place to, to have *** chance to be competitive for *** long time after ***, after *** 17 game season, how did you feel physically coming into the game? Yeah, I feel good. I feel good, you know, I think that's the one thing that was the most, uh, most thankful for other than the, you know, the wrists that bothered me the last few weeks. Uh, of the season, my last half, I guess. Yeah, I felt pretty, uh, pretty healthy all season, so I'm thankful for that. You know, Mike is, you've praised Mike this season for his coaching job and how he's, he's prepared you guys. You know, when someone points to this is now his 9th straight season without *** playoff win, what do you think he does or doesn't do that goes unseen, whether you appreciate it or, or otherwise? I mean, this, this league has changed *** lot in my 21 years, um. You know, when you hear *** conversation about the, uh, the Mike Tomlins of the world, Matt LaFleurs of the world, um, those are two that kind of I've played for and, When I first got in the league, there wouldn't be conversation about whether those guys were on the hot seat, you know, but the way that, uh, the league is covered now and the way that there's snap decisions and the validity given to the, You know, the Twitter experts and all the, you know, experts on TV now who, who, who make it seem like they know what the hell they're talking about. To me that's an absolute joke, and for either of those two guys to be on the hot seat is is really an apropos of where we're at as *** society and *** league because, uh, obviously, Matt's done *** lot of great things in Green Bay and we had *** lot of success. Mike T has had more success than damn near anybody in the league, uh, you know, from, for the last 1920 years. And more than that though, when you have the right guy, Uh, and the culture is right. Uh, you don't think about making *** change, um, but. There's *** lot of pressure that comes from the outside and obviously that sways decisions from time to time, but it's not how I would do things and not how the league used to be. What have you learned from being with Mike for *** season about him? And I've answered that *** number of times. I've, I've talked extensively about how I feel about Mike. And I, and I just did not *** answer, so. Thanks. All right.
