THE SENIOR CLASS PLAYING A BIG ROLE IN THE BEARCATS SUCCESS. THIS GROUP IS 67 AND ONE IN THEIR FOUR YEARS AGAINST KENTUCKY COMPETITION, SO THAT’S PRETTY SPECIAL. IT’S A GROUP THAT HAS COME UP TOGETHER PLAYING THROUGHOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL AND TRAVEL BALL. AS THE TEAM KEPT WINNING OVER THE YEARS. THE EXPECTATIONS CONTINUE TO RISE. THERE’S DEFINITELY A LOT OF PRESSURE, BUT IT’S GOOD TO HAVE THAT KIND OF PRESSURE, LIKE WE HAVE TO UPHOLD THE LACROSSE TEAM, AND IT’S REALLY SPECIAL TO HAVE THAT. WE ALL HAVE THE SAME MINDSET. WE WANT OUR TEAMMATES, WE WANT TO WIN FOR PAT AND JUST LIKE HELPING JUST BE A LITTLE BIT A LITTLE PART OF THAT JUST HELPS EVERYBODY. THAT MINDSET HAS HELPED THE BEARCATS WIN BACK TO BACK STATE TITLES, WITH HOPES OF BRINGING HOME A THREE PEAT FOR THE SENIOR CLASS. THEY’VE BEEN THEY’VE BEEN CENTRAL. I MEAN, THEY’VE BEEN REALLY IMPORTANT. AND THEY’RE ALSO DOING A GOOD JOB THIS YEAR ESPECIALLY. WE TALK A LOT ABOUT LEGACY AND HOW YOU’RE GOING TO BE REMEMBERED. SO THEY’RE DOING A GOOD JOB BEING MENTORS TO THE YOUNGER KIDS AND REALLY HELPING THEM, WHICH IS REALLY IMPORTANT, OBVIOUSLY, BECAUSE THEY WANT TO SEE THAT PIPELINE KEEP GOING TO THE BEARCAT. CULTURE IS ONE OF A KIND. WE ALL LOVE EACH OTHER, AND WE’RE ALL ROOTING FOR EACH OTHER, JUST LIKE THE WAY EVERYBODY CELEBRATES AFTER GOALS. LIKE I JUST, I JUST LOVE ALL MY TEAMMATES SO MUCH. AND THAT’S WHY WINNING IS SO MUCH MORE SATISFYING. CASEY DE BRITT DEL BARBA WLKY SPORTS SACRED HEART, LEXINGTON CHRISTIAN FACING OFF IN THE FIRST SEMI WITH CASEY DE AND HENRY CL

Kentucky Country Day girls lacrosse has created a one-of-a-kind culture that's carried the Bearcats to 13 consecutive state title game appearances. This year, KCD is playing for a three-peat in hopes of sending the seniors out on a high note. It's a class that has continued the legacy that is KCD girls lacrosse. "This group is 67-1 against Kentucky competition in their four years, so that's pretty special," said head coach Patrick McAnulty. Attending a small school, the seniors have stuck together throughout their early playing days and travel ball. As the team continued to win and grow over the years, the expectations continued to rise. "We all love each other, and we are all rooting for each other. I just love all my teammates so much, and that's why winning is so much more satisfying," said senior Christine Martin."They've been central, they've been really important, and they've done a good job, especially this year," added McAnulty. "We talk a lot about legacy and how they'll be remembered, so they're doing a good job being mentors and helping the younger kids, which is really important. They want to see that pipeline keep going, too."
