Trinity baseball continues to showcase its talent
THERE WILL BE TWO CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES BOTH ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH. THE REGIONAL BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS HAVE BEEN DODGING RAIN DROPS ALL WEEK. TRINITY IS THE DEFENDING STATE CHAMP, AND AS BRITT DEL BARBA SHOWS US, THE ROX FIGURE TO BE IN THE MIX AGAIN IN 2026. OUR PITCHING AND OUR DEFENSE HAS BEEN STELLAR. ON TOP OF OUR OFFENSE. SO THAT GIVES GIVES US A CHANCE. THE REIGNING STATE CHAMPS ARE ROLLING RIGHT NOW. WHEN YOU HAVE GUYS THAT ARE PUSHING EACH OTHER FROM THE BOTTOM UP, IT JUST MAKES US ALL, YOU KNOW, A LITTLE BIT BETTER EVERY DAY. THE ROX PITCHING STAFF HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC. 300 AND 220 AND TWO THIRD INNINGS, HEADLINED BY G SQUARED JUNIOR GRAY DAVIS AND SENIOR GRAYSON WILLOUGHBY. HAVING GRAY AND GRAYSON AT THE TOP REALLY SETS THE TONE RIGHT. I MEAN, EVERYBODY ELSE FOLLOWS THEIR LEAD WHEN THEY HAVE SUCCESS. EVERYONE ELSE WANTS TO MATCH THAT SUCCESS. AND REGARDLESS OF OF THE SITUATION, WE WORK HARD TO PUT OUR PITCHERS IN POSITION TO HAVE IN A POSITION TO HAVE SUCCESS IN GAMES AND PICKING OUT THE RIGHT SPOTS FOR THEM. AND, AND THAT COMPETITION HAS, HAS REALLY CREATED A MONSTER AMONGST OUR STAFF. WE HAVE GUYS TOP TO BOTTOM THAT CAN DO THAT AT ANY SCHOOL ANYWHERE HERE IN THE STATE. SO FOR GUYS TO COME HERE KIND OF ACCEPT THAT MAYBE THEY’RE NOT GOING TO HAVE AS BIG OF A ROLE, BUT FOR THEM TO BUY IN AND BE LIKE, OH, WE’RE GOING TO, YOU KNOW, HELP OUT. GRAY GRACE AND MAX HUDSON, ALL THOSE GUYS. IT JUST MAKES US LIKE UNBEATABLE FROM THE HIGH PROFILE GUYS. THE GUYS THAT ARE THAT HAVE STEPPED UP AND BEEN BIG, THAT HAVE BEEN HIGH PROFILE GUYS FOR US, THEY’VE JUST TAKEN THAT STEP MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY, AND THEY’VE JUST BOUGHT INTO THE TO THE IDEA OF POUND THE STRIKE ZONE AND TRUSTING OUR DEFENSE AND MAKING GOOD PITCHES WHEN THEY HAVE TO. AND THAT’S WHAT’S THAT’S WHAT’S IT’S BEEN REALLY SPECIAL. THE OFFENSE HAS BEEN PRETTY SPECIAL TO SEE NOLAN HITTING HOME RUNS LEFT AND RIGHT. YOU KNOW, GUYS GETTING EACH OTHER, PICKING EACH OTHER UP IN THE DUGOUT ALL THE TIME. AND YOU GO OUT THERE WITH A LEAD. I MEAN YOU ALREADY FEEL CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF WITH THE ZERO ZERO BALL GAME. AND YOUR OFFENSE CAN GO OUT AND PUT SEVEN EIGHT RUNS IN AN INNING AT ANY POINT. YOU JUST HAVE ALL THE CONFIDENCE

Trinity baseball is playing some of its best ball. The Rocks own a 34-3 record with the regional tournament getting started this week as they get ready for another postseason run. "Our pitching and our defense has been stellar on top of our offense, so that gives us a chance," said head coach Rick Arnold.A lot of the credit goes to the Rocks' pitching staff, headlined by the upperclassmen with senior Grayson Wiloughby and junior Gray Davis. "Having Gray and Grayson at the top, you know, really sets the tone, right? I mean, everybody else follows their lead when they have success. Everyone else wants to match that success," said Arnold. "Regardless of the situation, we work hard to put our pitchers in position to have success in games and picking out the right spots for them. In that competition, has, has really created a monster amongst our staff." As a staff, the Rocks have recorded 300 strikeouts in 220 2/3 innings. "Everyone just kind of accepts their roles," adds Wiloughby. "Me and Gray try to do what we can every day, but we have guys top to bottom that could do that at any school anywhere here in the state. So, for guys who come here and kind of accept that maybe they aren't going to have as big of a role, but for them to buy it and be like, 'Oh, we're going to help out Gray, Grayson, Max, Hudson, all those guys, just like makes us unbeatable."The offense is doing its part, too. Trinity has scored four or more runs during their 17-game win streak. The Rocks' last loss happened against out-of-state competition in April. "You see guys picking each other up in the dugout all the time," said Wiloughby. "Then you go out there with a lead, I mean, when you already feel confident in yourself with a 0-0 ball game and the offense to go out and put seven or eight runs in an inning at any point. You just have all the confidence in the world, and it just, it makes it really easy."
