Stephen Yancey wins Democratic primary for Jefferson County Sheriff
Democrats have selected a candidate for the Jefferson County Sheriff race in November.Stephen Yancey came out victorious in the primary, beating out Deputy Sheriff Steve Healey and Richard Breen.Yancey received nearly 40% of votes, while Healey came in second with 36%.He will face off against Republican Alexander William Marson in the general election. Marson was not on the primary ballot for Republican voters because he is the only candidate running for the GOP.One of the two candidates will replace longtime Sheriff John Aubrey, who died in Sept. 2025. David James has been serving as interim sheriff in the meantime.The general election is Nov. 3.

Democrats have selected a candidate for the Jefferson County Sheriff race in November.
Stephen Yancey came out victorious in the primary, beating out Deputy Sheriff Steve Healey and Richard Breen.
