KCD beats Sacred Heart to win girls lacrosse state title
Kentucky Country Day beat Sacred Heart 13-9 on Wednesday night at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown to win the Bearcats' third straight girls lacrosse state championship.
Eleanor Beam scored five goals for KCD.
"It's always a reflection of the hard work of these kids, though," KCD head coach Patrick McAnulty said. "I mean, I'm just so proud of them, being in a small school where with them for a long time, we really see them grow and we see them mature and we see them, oh no, go through trials and tribulations together and they stuck through it. We overcame an amazing Eastern team in the quarterfinals. They had us on the ropes and we came back and we played a great game today. Overall, so I'm just proud of them. It's amazing."
The Bearcats finished the 2026 season 22-1 with 18 straight wins. KCD's seniors finish their careers 69-1 against schools from the state of Kentucky.
Sacred Heart finished 17-4.
