Rapper Rob Base, of the hip-hop duo Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock, died Friday, according to a statement posted to his official Instagram page. He turned 59 earlier this week.Base, whose real name is Rob Ginyard, died "surrounded by family after a private battle with cancer," according to the statement.The duo's breakout 1988 hit, "It Takes Two," spent 16 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 36. The song maintained its popularity over the years.
