Malachi Moreno announced on social media on Sunday that he is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and will return to the University of Kentucky for his sophomore season. The 7'0", 250 pound Great Crossing grad started 30 games as a freshman, averaging 7.8 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds. He was the 2025 Kentucky Mister Basketball, leading the Warhawks to the state championship. The highlight of his freshman season for the Cats was a buzzer beating game-winning jumper in a 75-74 win at LSU on January 14. He was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team.
