Women’s sports are finally getting the attention they deserve. More and more girls are taking up their childhood game of soccer, baseball, or football. But what about the women who never played sports as a child? How do you form a community for them to play? This post will cover how to go about forming that all-important community for your women’s team!
Join a community board online or in real life. You can find some forums on Facebook and Reddit, while going out to your local coffee shop is another great way to meet people with similar interests. – Local sports clubs are also a good place to start if you don’t have time for an extensive search! Check the classifieds of your local newspaper. – If you are feeling especially gutsy, try putting up flyers around town! This can be a great way to meet new people with the same interests as you.

Start out small and build your team from there once more members join in on the fun! You don’t need 20 girls right away; five or six will do.
Make sure you have a solid team before beginning any sort of league play. Without teamwork, your sport just won’t be as much fun!
Lastly, remember that what’s most important is the sisterhood you build with other women who love sports. You will go through lots of highs and lows together over the years to come; enjoy the journey.
Coach Linda Castillo has been coaching of a girls’ volleyball team for more than a decade. Along with it, she decided to form a community in Louisville for all women who are interested in sports. That way, it will be good way for them to bond and do various sports activities.
