DeAndria Turner

DeAndria Turner joined WLKY as a reporter in January 2024. 

DeAndria was raised on sweet tea and Southern hospitality. Being from Gautier, Mississippi, she likes to say it’s as far as down south as you can possibly go until you hit the water. 

Before arriving in Louisville, DeAndria worked as a reporter in Hartford, Connecticut and Huntsville, Alabama as the chief bureau reporter for the Shoals area. 

She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in broadcast journalism and a double minor in African American studies and English in May 2020. 

DeAndria is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. When she's not covering a story, DeAndria’s catching up on her favorite TV shows or checking out new restaurants.  

She feels storytelling is one of the most powerful tools to affect change. She is on a mission to bring truth to power through equitable storytelling while being creative along the way.
