ORGANIZATIONS IN TOWN AND ELECTED LEADERS. AND I’M VERY PROUD OF THE CAMPAIGN WE RAN. METRO COUNCIL RACES ARE NONPARTISAN, MEANING THE TOP TWO VOTE GETTERS IN EACH RACE MOVE ON TO THE GENERAL ELECTION IN NOVEMBER IN DISTRICT THREE, THAT’S KEISHA DORSEY AND KAMARA. RASHAD DORSEY RECEIVED 48% OF THE VOTE IN DISTRICT FIVE. RAY BARKER AND DONNA PURVIS WILL BE MOVING ON. BARKER RECEIVED 40% OF THE VOTE, WHILE INCUMBENT DONNA PURVIS RECEIVED 24%. THEY BEAT A CROWDED FIELD OF SIX CANDIDATES, AND IN DISTRICT NINE, ALISON BRODSKY ELDER AND ANDREA PAS ARE IN THE TOP TWO SPOTS AND WILL FACE OFF IN NOVEMBER IN DISTRICT 17. INCUMBENT MARCUS WINKLER AND NANCY WALTERS BOTH ADVANCE. WINKLER RECEIVED 60% OF THE VOTE. TAKING A LOOK NOW AT METRO COUNCIL DISTRICT 21, INCUMBENT BETSY RUE AND LONNIE JOSEPH WERE THE WINNERS THERE, BEATING OUT TWO OTHER CANDIDATES TO MOVE FORWARD IN NOVEMBER. AND FINALLY IN DISTRICT 23.
